Toby Alderweireld isn’t ruling out staying at Tottenham this summer despite continued speculation linking him with a move away.
Manchester United have been the club most heavily linked with a move for the Belgium international centre-back, who has so far failed to agree terms on a new deal in north London.
The 29-year-old has just two years remaining on his current deal, but United have so far failed to come up with acceptable offer for the former Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Southampton man, who is currently away with his country at the World Cup .
And speaking after Belgium’s 4-1 pre-tournament win over Costa Rica, he seemed open to the possibility of staying with Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
“Yeah, why not?”, he told reporters when asked if he could be staying with Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
“I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know what is going to happen.”
United have brought in young Porto full-back Diogo Dalot this summer, and have agreed terms for the Brazil and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
