Manchester United are making checks on Celtic full back Kieran Tierney.
United boss Jose Mourinho has made a left back a priority in this summer’s transfer window and has had glowing reports on 20-year-old Tierney.
They have also looked at Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Juventus star Alex Sandro but Tierney would cost a fraction and is seen as one of Britain’s most promising youngsters.
Tierney, who last signed a contract last year, can play in both full back roles and also operate as a centre half or in a back three.
Celtic rate him highly but know it would be a major battle if a huge club came in for him and United believe they may be able to get him for around £10m.
Other clubs, including Arsenal, have looked at him in the past and there will be no shortage of offers if Celtic decide they will have to sell this summer.
United may look to spend big in other areas of the squad in midfield with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazil midfielder Fred and Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann on their wish list.
Who will be Manchester City’s biggest rivals for the title next season?
